Matthew L. Spitzer specializes in law and economics and in broadcast regulation. His recent research has focused on content control in broadcasting. Among his publications are Public Policy Toward Cable Television (with Thomas Hazlett), Seven Dirty Words and Six Other Stories: Controlling the Content of Print and Broadcast , and "Experimental Law and Economics." He taught at Northwestern University before joining the USC faculty.
